Problem Solving
This is a core module of the Supervisor and Leadership Development Program
Workshop PPP Statement
Purpose:
To help participants become more successful at problem solving by teaching them how to avoid the common problem solving pitfalls through application of a six step problem solving model. Participants will not only learn, but will apply their new knowledge to "on-line" situations. The training will be based on the text Step-By-Step Problem Solving, by Richard Chang and P. Keith Kelly, and supplemented by Memory Jogger II from GOAL/QPC and other proven material and work experiences.

By the end of this twelve-hour session, participants will be able to:
- Lead teams through the problem solving process
- Learn and apply numerous problem-solving tools for problem solution: brainstorming, cause-effect diagrams, data collection, Pareto charts and others
- Recognize the importance of applying each of the six steps
- Transfer this process to employees for application
